ART at the Science Fair once again
24. 07. 2026
Visitors to the Science Fair, the largest science outreach event in the Czech Republic, which attracted more than 50,000 visitors of all ages this year, had another opportunity to explore the topics of the ART – Future of Assisted Reproduction programme. The participating institutes showcased their research at their own exhibition stands.
At its stand, the Institute of Biotechnology of the Czech Academy of Sciences introduced visitors to the fascinating yet challenging world of fertilization, gamete development, and infertility. Visitors had the opportunity to take a closer look at gametes and discover that not all sperm cells are alike. Under the microscope, they could observe human, rat, bull, and boar sperm, as well as mouse oocytes.
Scientists from the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Czech Academy of Sciences presented advanced microscopy and imaging technologies through the Czech-BioImaging and CZ-OPENSCREEN research infrastructures. Visitors learned about the possibilities of modern microscopy, drug discovery, and the future applications of artificial intelligence in reproductive medicine.
