Barbora Vošlajerová


RNDr. Barbora Vošlajerová, Ph.D. studied at the Faculty of Science, Charles University, and completed her doctoral thesis at the Institute of Vertebrate Biology of the Czech Academy of Sciences. She undertook research stays at the University of Montpellier (France), Butler University in Indianapolis, and the University of Arizona in Tucson (USA).

Since 2010, she has been working at the Laboratory of Mammalian Evolutionary Genetics, Institute of Animal Physiology and Genetics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, first as a postdoctoral researcher and currently as a research scientist. Her research focuses on behavioral genetics, evolutionary ecology of small mammals, speciation, and behaviors associated with the emergence of new species.

Alongside her research, she is actively engaged in science communication – she coordinates the communication and public presentation of the Institute’s activities towards the media, students, and the wider public. Since 2017, she has been a member of the Academy of Sciences’ Collegium of Science Popularizers.

Within the Future of Assisted Reproduction (ART) project, she is responsible for presenting and communicating the project’s outcomes to the public and the media.
