About the conference

Conference Scope

Oocyte Day was first established in 2019 by Assoc. Prof. Petr Solc, who was at that time Head of the Laboratory of DNA Integrity at the Institute of Animal Physiology and Genetics of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Libechov. The second meeting, held in 2024, was organized by Dr. David Drutovic, current Head of the Laboratory of DNA Integrity, in collaboration with Prof. Petr Svoboda (Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Prague), and was dedicated to the memory of Petr Solc. Following a two-year interval, the third Oocyte Day is being organized by David Drutovic and Petr Svoboda.

This one-day scientific meeting highlights the recent advances in mammalian oocyte and early embryo research. The program brings together leading experts and young researchers to explore key topics such as mammalian oocyte and early embryo development, oocyte quality, mechanisms of genome integrity maintenance, fidelity of chromosome segregation, and cutting-edge molecular and cellular biology approaches.

The primary objective of the meeting is to promote scientific discussion and collaboration among international researchers, experts from the Czech Republic, and early-career scientists, including undergraduate and graduate students. The conference provides a platform for presenting current research findings and supports the participation of early-career researchers by offering opportunities to present and discuss their work within an expert scientific community.
